We have a big dream, one that is unlikely as it upends BIG chemical companies polluting our crops and soils and degrading the health of many Americans.

We have a quadruple bottom line - People, Purpose, Planet, Profits. Our purpose is to regenerate soils using organic materials instead of synthetic chemicals and thereby add rather than deplete our soils. We will use profits for the benefit of our employees, our communities and for our growth rather than to enrich management and founders. Our partner in this venture is Auburn University, a land grant University with deep ties to Alabama farmers and growers. Auburn has developed an enhanced chicken litter formula that can compete with the immediate results of synthetics while building soil health instead of depleting it.

We will test soils for nutrient needs and attempt to address those together with the chicken litter fertilizer. Our aim is to deliver this organic fertilizer for less money than synthetics so that farmers can reduce their debt and reverse the economic decline in rural America.

Robert Brandon PhD in agricultural engineering from Texas A&M and Jonathan Nordstrom, former investment professional and crew manager are the founders of Soil Solutions of Alabama. Alabama’s #1 agricultural commodity is broiler chickens, aka chicken for meat. Alabama produces 12.6% of all broilers in the U.S. and so 2mm tons of chicken manure. If successful in Alabama, we aim to expand to Georgia, Arkansas, North Carolina, Texas and Mississippi. These 6 states produce 63% of all chicken meat in the U.S.

Our message is different – we can work together with a product, custom designed for each field that promotes rather than depletes soil health and structure at a reasonable cost so that those extra dollars can pay off crushing debt and build farmer autonomy.

Regenerative farming is gaining ground and is based on 3 principles - cover crops, crop rotation and limited soil disturbance, so drilling seeds rather than plowing fields. Regenerative farmers use fertilizer and we believe we are their best option, and this movement is growing rapidly.
